This is the view you see on the other side of the west Maui mountains.
We live on the side you cannot see. We drive around this mountain
whenever we want Costco or Wal-Mart.
We read Oprah made a road, so she could have a direct
route instead of going around...We thought this may be the road,
It is hard to believe that if you need a road, you just build one.
So we kept calling Oprah's name throughout the morning, thinking
she just may answer.

We thought this road looked like it just went off into the ocean.
We have not traveled the road to Hana for years. Bobo had never
been on the adventure and Dev when she was little. The road is
very diverse when you go all the way around. This portion is a
bit more dry.

One never knows what they will find on the road to Hana.
It is such a good getaway. Very diverse, beautiful, and even
though you might see tourists on the road, you are out in the
middle of an island.
Our first get out and walk spot was the bamboo hike.
A favorite.
This part of the hike is just amazing!
When we were here before, the bamboo would
knock together in the wind and make an amazing
sound. No knocking today, but beautiful!

A muddy hike. We were in and out of rain for the day.

They loved this horse right by the parking lot for the store where
we tried to put together some kind of dinner. There was not
many choices in Hana for dinner. The whole point of Hana
is the journey along the way....getting out and stopping at all the
many different waterfalls...not getting to Hana.

So cold! So exhilarating!
Andrew and I had not been swimming in these
waters since before we had children. All Andrew had to do
was say I should get in and I knew I had to make my way down.
I just couldn't let having children stop me from still being crazy!
There are passageways that lead into different
parts of the cave. There is one rock that you can
sit on like a bench. Legend has it that the queen hid
there from the king.
You never know what you will look like after
you have been in Hana for awhile.

"Dev did my hair". Funny girl!
We simply love you Cole and Het.

came to Maui to see Anderson...(now Bobo) for the first time.
