Deveraux is great at setting up an area.
So a the close of May we bid a good-bye to Julie who directed the children's ministry at church.
Julie is a big reason we are at Calvary. We were told to
look her up when we moved from a friend in Maui who grew up with Julie.
Julie also was the one who opened the door to me leading
worship for Sunday School. Every Sunday, Julie faithfully
behind the scenes served the Church. Children's ministry
allows us to listen to a sermon, sit together as couples, and
offers a time to minister to our kiddos. Julie is a wise woman who
has spoken into my life many times. I will miss her presence at church.
To the beach with Carmel applies!
He loves these boots!
It was great fun to see them playing together. Deveraux does
not wear her wet suit too often, much to Bobo's delight and
her own, she engaged in the water!
We explored a new beach, Del Monte in Monterey.
School is winding down....
My last day with Bobo, just the two of us!
We headed to the aquarium to discover. They were tracking
sea animals and listening for their sounds.
These penguins loved his shoes!
Summer house
We dragged this drift wood off the beach to our house
so we could make a bench.
So Deveraux had an end of the year party for school at the beach.
They had a sand castle building contest.
Deveraux was explaining that they built the Forest Theatre.
All the students went from one sand castle to the next to
see all the creations.
Dev's teacher
The paper ribbons were a big hit!
We got in a trip to My Museum to spend time with our Maui friends
before we all headed off on our summer trips.
I live with a bunch of sillies.
This was on the way home from Target,
all displaying Bobo's new boxer underwear.
Last Day of first grade
Last car ride with dada for awhile....
Deveraux gave Ms. Lebel a "3-D card."
A tree with words depicting what she received from
her teacher that she grew to love.
Deveraux said out of everything, she would miss
her teacher the most.
They were role-playing school time
The garden courtyard we tended
throughout the year.
Thank you Ms. Lebel for caring for our girl.
We came a long way! Oh I remember holding Deveraux
as she cried in the courtyard, wondering how I was going
to get her back into the classroom. Counting the days until
the end of the year and this was before Christmas. We had
some hard days. It seemed to take a turn after Christmas,
the days were just better. She adjusted and we were so
thankful we hung in there and she saw "the other side."
Papa came with me to pick up Deveraux
Walking the rocks on the way to the car, a favorite activity!
Second year tradition....picking out summer sandals!
Bobo received new fire boots!
School's Out!
