more gifts from the Sea...
We are wanting to fulfill what we said we were going to do with our move to the mainland and that is explore on our days off....so we headed to Big Sur on this particular weekend. We hoped to get further on the road, but it was closed. But in turning back, we discovered a great beach at the end of the day.
This was a site where a house used to be belonging to some of the earlier settlers of the area.
We love this river spot
...and the pizza is fabulous!
I love when they walk together
Bobo and dada
loved this "coming out of really cold water" look
They loved throwing rocks, being in their wet suits, and exploring! I loved seeing the freedom of adventure and again reminded that this kind of a time is needed again and again!
There were these cool little "houses" on the beach...within 10 minutes for Deveraux is was her house, store, and a restaurant...did you know you can get a mocha on this isolated beach???
I found this shell...amazing, I knew it might not make it home in one piece...and it didn't
My sweet children carried some wood for me. I have been wanting a fire in our fireplace for so long. I saw all of this wood and thought, we can have a fire! Andrew tried to reason with me that we couldn't carry firewood on our walk back to the car. But of course, Deveraux stepped up to the plate, " I can carry it!" One of the logs I can't burn because it so cool looking! A fun day in Big Sur. I really appreciate my husband and how he thinks and plans through fun adventures for our family. As a family, we really enjoy adventures, getting out, exploring, and being active.
