Our Home....for now

First Morning!

This is where the kids place their "order" from the "restaurant" and I say "order up"

Our kitchen, it's fun having a small kitchen with just enough dishes.

Our living room

Our "lanai"

So in the evenings we receive "turn down" service, complete with chocolates. I know, it's too much!

Our Life so far....

walking along the beach walk in Carmel, good to know some images remain, like dada and bobo walking together....

So we have arrived and we have a 30 day stay at the Hyatt Highlands Inn in Carmel. It is beautiful and we are blessed to have such a place to stay in the interim. The trees remind me of Colorado which makes me feel good and it has been cold, which is kinda fun. Although, it is strange to wear jeans and long shirts in August. So the sundresses that hang in the closet will have to wait.

We are living in the "not there but not here" which means, we don't have a home in the past and we aren't settled here. We aren't on vacation but it kinda feels like we are. Thus, the surreal of all of this continues somewhat. I sometimes feel excited about the new days that lie ahead, sometimes feel lonely and uncertain, and sometimes not sure what I feel. I know trusting continues to be important and a continuing theme for this time.

Andrew's new job!!

First family road trip to Fresno so Andrew could take his CA real estate exam

He passed! Yeahoo!

Anderson and Deveraux did great on the road!

Stopped at the factory outlets on the way home and got Andrew set up with long sleeved button up collared shirts for work.

Our new favorite eatery...Safeway deli. We will branch out, we promise, just a nice and easy place to stop for a quick bite.

We are together and that is good!

We walked along the Carmel Beach one evening. It is beautiful. So different than Maui, a different feel, new flowers, you could see our breath in the cool air, and there were several bonfires along the beach.

Aloha Maui

Oh my goodness what a whirlwind getting here! Ihave May 16th recorded as the day we first started the rumblings of CA and the day we left July 30th. Ups, downs, stops, starts, fears, hopes, loss, gain....all of it.
The week and day before leaving were so full...of people, packing, last minute stops, trying to get it all in. Some of it I did well and some it not so. It is hard to be the one leaving. I knew we weren't running from Maui, just going to something new. I felt such love and support from those around us, excited for our journey, thank you friends!

Oh we will miss our view!

This is coming up the hill into our neighborhood. This Maui light is my favorite!

Of course, a rainbow!

Ready for the plane!

last minute packing of sheets and blankets...thanks Catherine and Jacki and Jeremy!

Everybody pitches in the help!

"Come on guys, it has to fit!" Oh moving is a tedious process!

on the way to the airport! Our kids really hung in there, thank you sweet Dev and Bobo!

Saying good-bye to Papa and Kimmy

and good-bye to Lance and Catherine at the airport...we had a caravan of love!

Hello to San Jose, CA...we made it!
