A cooking Party
Making her cake
Welcome to Deveraux's Cafe
Deveraux's idea to "make your own grilled cheese"
Our sweet friend, Young, contributed with her touch on flowers
Gigi was able to help with decorations before she left for home.
"It takes a village" to throw a birthday party!
Wooden spoons Drew fashioned into ornaments for each girl to paint.
A hit of the party was handmade aprons from sweet Aunt Heather! What a gift for each guest, they were beautiful and I loved seeing them all being worn and played in.....
The birthday girl's chair
Thanks for the Internet for great ideas!
A great trick for an instant pillow makeover....material and a glue gun...
it worked for a couple of days.
Even Bobo got an apron! (Aunt Heather was looking out for him!)
Painting their spoon ornaments
Andrew was great...he was the head chef and taught each girl how to make their own grilled cheese!
Marshmallow game....try to make it to the bowl without dropping it
Love the aprons...labor of love, thanks Lou so much!
After guests had arrived, chose their aprons, and put them on, Devearux called Aunt Heather on her own initiative just to say thank you.
Dada was Chef Boyardee and we played, "Chef Boyardee says"(instead of "Simon says") with cooking utensils!
Are you really turning 7?
Her choice, lemon cake
It was really important for her to blow out all her candles because in a past party all the other kids "helped" out" and so we made sure she got her full wish and blew all her candles out!
A good time had by all!!
One of Deveraux's favorite parts was decorating their brownies.
I loved that Bobo wanted a place at the table, we set places for each girl, but Bobo made it to
the table also!
Her hardest moment was around the gift giving time. The girls were so excited and Deveraux felt a bit rushed and overwhelmed...we learn each year!
Yeah! A party success!
Yes, alot of work! It always amazes me how much work it is. I had an idea in my head and I wanted to execute the picture I had and hoped Deveraux enjoyed the finished product. I tried to be aware of my stress and how it comes out and affects those around me. In moments I chose well and other moments, I needed a deep breath! I like the idea of a party every other year and a just family simple gathering for the in between year. We came together as a family and Deveraux had a good time. I am hopeful it will also benefit her during this school year with friendships.
