Honokowai Park

All loaded up and ready for a park adventure!

He was the last to the car for all that he had loaded up to bring.

Memories at the farmer's market of the little

shopping cart Dev would push around.

A couple weeks ago.....

A couple years ago....

This may have been Bobo's first swing time.

This was my first official outing as a new full time mom with

Deveraux when I stopped working my hours as a counselor

at the school.  I went back when Dev was about three months old

for about 3 months about 2 days a week.  I was so glad to be

a stay at home mom!

It's funny, I just noticed he is wearing green shirts in both pictures!

They spent most of their time at the beach instead of

the park.  They had great fun exploring and imagining! 

This was one of my favorite days of Drew's last week

before he started work.  We kept wanting to "mark" the

time, savor the ending of this season of having him home.

We did enjoy some fun activities but it was also

intermingled with home stuff.  But this day felt more

spontaneous and free from time constraints.  After we got

home, we left again for Kapalua beach and had a sand

building contest, Drew took them pool hoping and I had

some quiet time on the beach.  It was a great day!

Happenings....

Date with Deveraux

We laughed really hard at this picture, us laying on

the grass trying to take a picture with sun in our eyes.

Gardening into the evening...Deveraux was a dedicated gardener

trying to clear out our front bed.

Our first trip to the humane society,

starting the process of answering our daughters long

time request of wanting a dog.

Russell, a sweet dog who we just enjoyed in the cage for

awhile.  It was funny as mom, Drew, the kids and I

were all waiting in the cage to meet a dog.  Someone

walked by and asked if we were waiting for a dog...mmmm

(No, just enjoying the cage.....)

We felt the love from Monterey, CA....

We all received treats from the Langford's

and there were smiles all around!!

Sweet memories

Napili Park...a fun park to enjoy lots of grassy areas, we met

papa to fly kites.

These are practice kites to learn how to fly

before hitting the water as a kite boarder,

I think we will be staying on dry ground for awhile!

Not a lot of wind this day, but we had a few

moments in the air.

A little bigger now at Napili park....I asked

Deveraux if she remembered Napili park and

she didn't!  It is always amazing what our kiddos

do remember at times and what they don't remember.

Papa is back from Colorado, the kids were excited!

Launiupoko Park and Beach

 

A rainy day at our house, we headed south a bit

before sunset to get some fresh air and a little time in the water.

This beach usually provides calm waves.

 

Deveraux and I climbed rocks.

Bobo learned in church that day Jesus is our rock, so he said,

"We are sitting on Jesus!"

We invited Papa over for A night to remember and tell

stories about Haleakala.  He brought his water bottle and hat

that he found while on a return hike tracing where he had been.

He brought his maps and told us the story from beginning

to end...how he was lost and then found!

"Volcano Erupts!

Swallowed up in the Crater.

Spit out to find home."

Deveraux and I wrote Haleakala Haiku's for the night....

"Lost...in the wild.

Fallen through the cracks...in mud.

But Alive...with me!"

We called our restaurant, "The Door to Home."

We enjoyed Erupting Sparkle (sparking water),

Haleakala Salad, Hosmer Grove Bread (the campsite

he found at the end of his journey), and Crater Apple Pie.

It was good to hear his story.  To remember and recount

all the answered prayers on his behalf.  We are so glad

he was the one who sat in our living room and told us his tale.
