As I reflected on the school year, I see that many
days did not appear as a full win for home schooling.
But I felt this was the path I was to be on and
He is faithful. I see wins some tangible
and some just little seeds with much promise.
I have really enjoyed podcasts in this season.
I probably started listening last December.
It's like everyone's current best nugget of truth
in their life up to that point. And an
encouragement in the journey of faith.
Sure, there are moments of comparison as
I read about the books they are writing
or the masses they are touching.
But mostly, it is been a great way for
be to be a part of a dialogue of depth
and great thoughts.
A podcast I enjoy is Annie F. Downs:
One guest spoke on calling.
"Your calling is when your strengths and passions
intersect. And then you get an assignment and it
is the assignment that changes not your strengths and
passions. There is not One thing for you to do.
You can ask, What am I supposed to do in this season?
Seasons can be an excuse to bring dreams back
into your life."
This summer I co-lead "Entrusted" by Beth Moore.
The study was all about calling- and how our
calling is to bring Jesus to the globe using our giftings.
I heard one podcast guest say that
"we affect generations to come and at one
end of that trail we will have had really
great memories with the people
we had gone on adventures with and learned
really hard things with."
She articulated well being in a family.
Another podcast:
"Water the season you are in and not to spend
time watering a season that is not yours."
How often are we "watering", tending, gazing,
wishing in a season where we are not.
As I have heard myself say, "Stay in your lane."
(thanks Dev for the sweet pictures)
