We met our boat captain at Lahaina Harbor and then we were
going to make our way to Fleming Beach which was the
race starting point. I felt so nervous the night before, I just
wasn't sure what to expect, I didn't want to get sick on the boat,
and open water for my boy felt a bit daunting.
I was glad to have Jes by my side for the trip.
Lara was Bobo's partner and the had made this
trek many times.
Stormy waters..this is looking to our neighborhood.
He was carried in by jet ski to our boat from the shore
as Lara was going to start the race.
The person paddling would let us know when they
were ready for the switch. The paddler in the boat
would get ready and jump in with a noddle and then
they would switch and the boat would pick up
the paddler hanging in the water.
Their first switch, there was a tiger shark seen
in the water so the captain said, lets not switch
yet. Okay, so that made me a bit nervous whenever
they would switch.
Go Bobo!
It was a lot colder than I thought it was going to be because
of wind and rain. I was so glad I had a poncho.
Great captains!
We made it to Molokai and we are happy!
I have to smile because our son is leading us on
some WILD adventures and this was one of them!
Awards ceremony, they placed first in their category.
Little plane. I flew back myself because Bobo had
another race the next day in Molokai.
It was a beautiful flight.
So very proud! 26 miles!!
These were a few pictures from a training session.
