Big Sur
"I'm Yours" Day
So tomorrow is "I'm Yours Day." The first official.
I decided because I often find myself in that place of wishing I was doing more with my kids (I can get really engrossed in a project) or that "forever" searching after the balance in a mom's life of time spent with kiddos and time spent cleaning, scrapbooking, projects, on the phone....etc...
I used to be such a strong proponent of..."you cannot lose yourself as a mom, do what it takes to not let that happen." I still believe that you don't want to "lose yourself", but how about "finding yourself" with your kids. I am hopeful learning the guitar and learning how to shoot really great photos is still in my future, but I don't think I will "lose" that part of me if I don't pursue it right now. Of course there is good in doing what you love outside of your kids but I am just allowing some room for this being "their time" and also "my time" with them.
Christ also called us to lose our life for His sake, I want a surrendered life.
So, "I will be right there..." "In just a second" will be put on hold for a day. I want to just respond to them for a day. I talked with my dad about this and there is much good in being attended to.
No projects of mine, no calls, email, personal productivity, or personal projects....just some good play time!
I bought the biscuits and bacon for a great start to our morning!
bobo
Some Anderson sayings....
Bobo..."Mama did you know that you are a great mama?" (does it get better???)
We were listening in the car to our favorite radio station that always puts us in the right perspective and Bobo said a "shout out" "Thank you Jesus for K-Love
"This is a beautiful moment" he said when we were on a walking home from town, we were just admiring a house and I think we were both enjoying such a lovely day with lovely surroundings...Anderson is just so expressive and he notices and speaks to what he feels,I love it...I love him!

Expect Him
"We caluculate and estimate, and say that this and that will happen, and we forget to make room for God to come in as He chooses. Do not look for God to come in any particular way, but look for Him. That is the way to make room for Him. Expect Him to come, but do not expect Him in any certain way. At any minute He may break in. We are apt to overlook this element of surprise, yet God never works any other way. All of a sudden God meets the life. Keep your life so constant in its contact with God that His surprising power may break out on the right hand and n the left. Always be in a state of expectancy, and see that you leave room for God to come in as He likes. "
Oswald Chambers "My Utmost for His Highest"
Words of Truth
A way to live the day out.
Once, I asked a Godly man and friend what did he feel was one thing he would have done differently with his kids. He said, taught them and given them more of the Word of God.
I am often convicted that I don't give Dev and Anderson Godly truth enough or weave it into our daily lives. I want them to know God's word, have them inscribed on their hearts. Not as a book we get out from time to time or if we are in "Bible study" or somehow set apart from our day to day.... but living, breathing, applicable to their lives love story.
This means, I continue on my journey of seeking truth through the Word of God and I make it alive and pertaining to my day to day!
