Sharing our love of whip cream in pancakes with sprinkles with Lucia and Mateo! |
Marci was an unexpected friend, a true gift in Maui as we both worked at Lahaina Intermediate. Her friendship has given me much. A reminder that really good friends can come as a surprise. I have missed her presence in my day to day. She has had such a road...her husband passed away New Years Day after years of battling cancer. She told me she was coming and true to her word, they made the trip from southern CA for their first trip since losing her husband.

Had to hit the beach, warm sun but a cool wind. The kids had fun! |
The girls found common ground with American Girl dolls, we were so glad they enjoyed each other! |
This boy loves his mama! |
Yeah, we finally got back to Dennis the Menace park! As Marci said, we just presented to kiddos to each other and said, okay be friends...they were all great and gave to us by playing to we could talk and talk and talk!!!! |
I had Bobo show off his Dennis the Menace b-day shirt from papa and Kimmy, the park was closed on his b-day, so we had to take a few pics! |
This is Pacific Grove path and the beach to the left of the kiddos was filled with people, Deveraux really wants to hit the beach on another warm day! |
Deveraux expressed she wanted to have tea party with Lucia before they went home, we got one in on the last morning! |

I don't remember a time where I have had so much conversation in such a small amount of time. Our talk time was off the charts! We had much to cover, she shared from her first meeting of Fede to her final good-bye. Such loss, death is so final this side of heaven. On one hand, everything seemed the same and on the other hand, everything was different...both were there. Our relationship has always been marked by sharing and I have so enjoyed our mutual pursuit, this was present in our time. We covered all topics! Oh but a heaviness as well. My heart aches for Lucia and Mateo, the sounds they will not hear from their papi, the everyday, his music, his touch....Andrew and I were led to talk about such matters of life and death....I am reminded to be filled with gratitude. |

Much love my sweet friend~I know there will be more..... |
