So my husband surprised me one afternoon by letting me know I needed to get ready because he would soon be 'wisking' me away somewhere for my early Christmas present. I wasn't even going to be home for my kiddos bedtime (which stressed me out a bit because Drew and I have put Bobo down for bed pretty much all his life....). But we had some sweet friends from church who were willing to stay until midnight...thank you Eugene and Young!
There she is...wow, this was only her 90th concert. I grew up dancing to Barbra in my living room and having big New York/Broadway dreams. I loved her movie, "Funny Girl", with many scenes and songs memorized. She was part of my childhood and she grew with me into adulthood as I would still listen. My biggest training runs for my marathon I listened to 'Yentil" (believe it or not) on my Ipod. For me, her voice (still) is amazing and she represents an era. At her concert, her son and sister sang with her and wonderful guests who made the evening great!
So besides seeing a living legend, (which someone asked Barbra how she felt about being called a living legend, she said as long as it still has living in front of it). What touched me just as much was my sweet husband of mine planning, arranging and being so excited for this night and the reveal! I asked him the next day if he had thought about it, he said he mostly thought about watching me at the concert. Andrew, he wanted to bless me and give me this gift, his heart contains so much love.
