Here we go!
So Andrew asked me if I wanted to do this mud run about a
month ago. The only thing I wanted to make sure was that I would not
be crawling through a mud tunnel. No mud tunnels, just 5 miles of 4 mud pits,
3 climbing walls, a lot of uphill, running in sand, push up
stations, and lots of Army people either telling us,
"Way to go" or "Get going!"
But it was fun!
But it was fun!
There is crazy mama!
Our cheering fans!
This is what the last mud pit looked like, you had to
crawl underneath.
Go Eugene! This was his first race. It was fun to cheer
him on. I would tell the army volunteers to cheer him on
by name. At first, he couldn't figure out how they knew
his name. (he he)
Our team...we hoped to have 5, but had trouble securing a final person.
The rule was you had to link arms as we crossed the line.
Eugene and I started because Andrew was waiting for Chris
and then he came running up after a short while when Christ didn't show...
then about 2 miles in, Christ showed up.
It was funny but fit the feel of the run.
There was a lightness about the run with all the groups.
We had a good time...good camaraderie, fun cheering
on Eugene together, getting into the "whole Army
Boot camp" thing with all the whoops and hollers.
When you are supporting someone else, you
just don't feel your pain as much...
....and Drew had fun with me!
Trying to get some mud off!
Sweet Joy and her kiddos came to cheer us on!
It was a great morning!
