March Moments...so far

We had a baby blessing for a woman in our Bible study.

After Bible study....hanging out and one of our moms
going through clothes given by another mom.  I love that
we can open our home and I love community!
Dev found these slippers from her baby clothes basket and
tried on these....I think a little small.
Practicing piano
Painted Deveraux's nails and someone wanted in on the action....
His "all the single ladies" hand motions.  They love to dance
to music and that is one of the picks....
A very light pink
new shoes!
He would have liked to sleep with them on....
We had a great Monday with dada.  First stop was Last Chance
Mercantile where I have found some great second hand finds.
Outside there is a big parking lot filled with furniture and
workout equipment, Bobo thinks it is pretty fun!
I found this little brown table.
On it is firetruck material Bobo carried around with kitty wrapped up.
We hope to use it to make something for his birthday!
Bobo and I found a surf board.  We were pretty excited.
But when we found dada, we found out it was too expensive
for the work it needed.  We were pretty disappointed.
tears for our budding surfer....one day buddy!
Next stop: the beach
These condos over the dunes are a sore spot for my
husband.  When we first moved here, one of these
homes was available.  We decided we were going to go for it after
much reluctance on my part due to the isolated location....
but it was rented before we had a chance to choose.
Andrew still feels "pain" over it!
I love the look of the CA coastline.  Very different from
HI, but I really like the feel and look.
Bobo and I found beach treasures!

I saw this idea in a store, making a tree from driftwood,
fun project ahead!
We have treasures!!  I will take the cute one in blue!
Next stop: Farmers Market

I love it!!
A very great day in Moss Landing with my two leading men!

Bath time!
Here is my cute $3.00 table from Last Chance Mercantile

Bobo and I also worked on his "office" as we call it.
It is a small dresser where he keeps all his treasures...maps, phones,
play computer...anything he likes!
Deveraux helping getting Bobo ready for bed.
I love when they work together!
Bible study continues to bless
My good friend Sally's little boy Jack celebrated his birthday.
Now that Jack is 3, last Sunday he switched to Bobo's class in Sunday
school.  He was a little hesitant and unsure.  His mom, Sally sent me this text
on Sunday..."Bobo just took Jack's hand and took him into class.  I heard him introduce
him to the teacher and say, 'This is my buddy.'  My heart exploded."
Big Sur

 Point Sur Light House.
When this was a lighthouse operated by people,
about four families would live here.
It is remote, up a mountain, and beautiful!

The tour took about 3 hours, not a long walk up but we
stopped frequently listening to the docent and learning
about the area.  Above is the light keepers house and the
house for the other families.
We took Young and Eugene with us.

Up the light house steps we go!
It was a little cool around the lighthouse
but breathtaking beautiful!

The lighthouse is now lit through electricity and still
an active lighthouse.

There was a tool and blacksmith shop
We were there on a Sunday, the same day and date on this
 calendar in 1929.
our sweet friends!
water tower
inside the keepers house
A cow bidding us good-bye.  Of course, Andrew had
to rev up our engine a little bit to get a reaction from the cow!
We were on top!  Very cool tour.  We have been wanting
to do this tour since driving through Big Sur.  The tour
times are limited so we were glad to make a date and go!
A good day!
The fastest bird using gravity.  When it is diving down it can fly as fast as
200 mph., the Peregrine Falcon

Carmel about a 5 minute or so drive from our house.

When I am running, I love this point in the road.
I tried to capture it from all angels.

One morning when I was running and rounded this corner, it
was just breathtaking.  Blue sky, blue sparkling water, green hills,
really truly beautiful!
I had my eye on these rocks for awhile.  Both the kids love
to climb rocks.  So we went on a Monday after school.

We played some "Little House on the Prairie" for Deveraux.

Library time!

A date!  It had been awhile.  We love this roof top
spot in Carmel.  We had such a great evening with
good conversation and the sweet pleasure of being
together.  This has been a good season for Drew and I.

A bakery treat after dinner.  The window was ready for St Patricks Day!

Playing with Jack after story time
We have been serving once a month feeding the homeless
with a non profit group in Monterey.  It has been hard to go
at times....uncomfortable and uncertain.  For me, it usually has to do with
where we fit in and finding a good place for the kids to serve.  For Deveraux it is
uncomfortable, but it is always good after we leave.  We are learning to be
flexible in the jobs we are given and to give of ourselves. The homeless
men and women are so kind to the kids and it is so good for us!
My date with Deveraux.  We had really been needing this time
together.  We had a great night!  Lots of running around and dinner.
This time is so valuable.
 So far....so good!
