Papa came over to apply his makeup and receive help
before he performed his one man show, "Einstein.".
She is a helper and she loves her papa.
An Einstein bow ...
The task dad undertakes to learn all those lines
in an accent not his own is amazing!
I got to go back stage and help dad out before the show,
it was a bit nerve racking as we were trying to fix his makeup minutes
before he was to go on, but I felt honored to support him.
Drew showed me delight one evening....when we remembered
that I had told the kiddos my favorite treat when I would go
grocery shopping with my mom in the summers was
hostess chocolate cupcakes. Everyone was glad dada remembered!
Bobo built a little stable for his horse right
by the bed.
Dada gave the two kiddos one of his favorite treats
growing up....strudel A memory of Saturday
mornings at his grandma's house accompanied
by cartoons.
Rainy days have marked many days this winter, more than
we remember in the past, and I love it!
Even thought it means a little less beach times, we will
have plenty of hot days coming up!
We were trying out some kitties, to see if a kitty would
like to live with us.
He wanted the kitty to come see his room....
....and introduce his horse to the kitty.
I found this in the garage...my cake pan with dirt inside.
It brought me back instantly to when we used my mom's
good Tupperware bowl to clean out the gutter at the bottom
of our driveway when we were little. We were hoping to put in fresh
water and simulate some kind of pool. My mom was not happy when she
realized that he bowl was being scraped with dirty driveway water.
Ahhhh, being a mom. The cycle repeats!
This might be our new cat.
He also came to our house for a visit.
From my two loves one day...picked flowers with a love note.
Deveraux is really into making things for her American
Doll's. This was a car she made, it is fun to see her
creativity in this area.
And she made a car for Bobo!
I came in one day and Deveraux had different vases
in the living room filled with flower arrangements that
she had picked from outside. I just love her eye for beauty
and that I don't instigate everything, sometimes beauty
just appears with an attention to detail.
This bed was finally raised from the ground (with a bed frame)
and I purchased a bed skirt, something I have wanted for
awhile. It helps put more of a finishing touch on the bedroom.
So we chose the cat. It was a Saturday. I asked Andrew
if it felt like Christmas, he said, it kinda did. I said, well
let me know that so it will help to accept this road we are embarking
upon. But, the cat likes to hide, that is why Bobo is looking
under the bed.
There he is! This cat has caused a few problems so far.
He managed to get himself stuck behind the water heater in
the garage. We actually had to hire a plumber to come our
and move the water heater to get him out.
He has also remained hidden for hours and we have not been
able to find him, that has happened a couple of times.
We did find a spot in our laundry room hiding where the
dryer exhaust tube, so Andrew had to move the washer to
retrieve our new pet.
Deveraux say a woman passing with a dog..
She said, "Why does it look so easy?"
Makes sense our girl would respond this way
when our starting our journey with pets
has not been completely smoothed.
There is that 18 year old syrup!
Lost in play on a Saturday.
Our Saturdays have taken a new feel...this is the
first time Andrew has had Saturdays off in such
a long time. We have been taking runs together which
has been such a treat. We have also had some "lanai"
coffee time. I feel we are still sorting through this new
weekend "feel" but we both desire to be intention, have
couple time, rest time and family fun.
