The Neelley's descended once more to Maui. This time, bittersweet.
To say good-bye to Hunter in a special place and to create
new memories as they move forward.
This is not "staged"...true sleeping positions.
We keep trucking....
We held a special memorial service for Hinter, who lost
his life after a brave fight against cancer. He was a freshmen in High school.
"You're Home Hunter"
We paddled out in a traditional Hawaii way to honor a life.
We spoke words about Hunter, sang a couple worship songs,
and slapped the water with out hands. Then his family
spread his ashes in the water with flowers.
We put our words in a bottle of how we would
honor Hunter in our lives by the life he lead and
at the end of the service, we threw them out to sea.
Following Scott out to throw the bottle
Next was my birthday...it was a low key one. but that was alright
for me this year.
Catherine and Lance. the Neelley's, and dad came over
for desert. My pictures of what we did earlier that day
are one another post.
Catherine wrote a lovely poem.
Bobo sang me a lovely song.
We always hang a birthday sign, Dev could not find the normal
one and so she made one....she is my girl who loves to celebrate
and wants to celebrate others!
For the next several pictures. A little son of my had my
camera. so they are from his perspective.
Bobo captured saying good-bye to the Neelley's. They are
always so generous. We felt cared for and loved. And we
were glad to celebrate Hunter.
Bobo loved their jeep...as it rides off into the sunset.
We decided to do school on the upper lanai that day.
We decided to give the baby Dev's old dresser (the one she had
when she was a baby) because she wanted to use the antique
china cabinet. It worked out and I could keep the sentimental
dresser and not buy a new one.
Pictures by Bobo!
Dev's new "old" dresser.
We truly found him asleep with his head under the bed.
Soon, we need to move this pallet as baby comes.
We celebrate Papa who blessed us in this season.
Dev cried so hard, I told her the time will fly while
Papa is away. after all, we have a baby to welcome!
She loves her Papa!
