His eyes.

He feels it.

He told me the other day that sometimes he gets tears in his eyes when he hears a certain song.
Today we happened to be listening to that song.  I called him over and asked my 7 year old boy if he felt it here as I pointed to my heart.  He couldn't look me in the eyes and I pressed him.  But I knew he felt it.

When I sing, sometimes I get tears.  It is that place we feel deeply.
I'm so glad he feels deeply.
He has such interesting eyes that see things.  Just when I think I
can figure out Bobo, he throws me for a loop.
I know God wants to break me out of my box by loving Bobo
and not wanting him to always conform to what I think or
even
He is different than me in some ways and similar in other ways.

He really wanted to see our new pastor the other Sunday.  We
have been helping in Sunday school all month so we have missed
big church and our church has been going through some changes.
I love that he even was excited to go see and hear this pastor.
Well out of the blue we were driving in the car and he said,
"On Sunday, what he said really touched me."
I asked which part.
He said, "That you will live longer if you forgive."
You just never know what is going to stick.
This morning, Bobo snuggled up by me in bed.  Then after
a bit he said, "Mom, it's 7:15, you better get on your run."
Accountability comes in many forms.  He has been snuggling
more and more.  I forget sometimes that he used to snuggle me
so much before baby girl.

He and papa painted his board.
He gave me this magazine picture and told me to save it
because he wants his hair to look like this.  One summer day,
he found some face paints and he and his sister tried to
recreate the look.  He wanted to look weathered.
(The sun was in his eyes a bit but they did a pretty good job...
I love their creativity).

Its July! Summer is here!

We made up for sitting in the car 5 hours for Andrew's birthday
(due to the fire on the highway), by giving him a round 2 --complete
with ministry, dinner, and cupcake!
He's one!  Ha ha, just a leftover candle, thanks Cambria.

Drew surprised me one night by putting in Godspell, the
play I was in whole in college.  Wow, talk about bringing
the past back.  It was kind of wild watching it with my kids.
Andrew is so sweet and thoughtful in these ways.
Back to Feed my Sheep after being away for awhile,
now with baby on my back.

The hair looks a bit wild but this was a date
morning (which are a favorite) with Drew.
We ran, swam in the ocean, and got breakfast.
Then the church called from "moms morning out"
and Cambria was ready for us!  We ended a bit
early but for a good cause.
Silly pic, but I made Dev put on this bib from
when she was little....just part of the purging.
Cambria is "boycotting" bibs.
First day of summer dance party.

Bobo put her in this chair and she looked so cute
and just sat there for awhile.

I liked this....Ruined childhood (phones?!?)
Dev fixing my hair at a meeting, she is getting better.
We have been all about Legos these first days of summer.
We have also been about Barnes and Noble.
This was the first time Cambria has walked around
a store.  It was so funny to watch her.  She is so
little and just on her own walking.

Once we put her down and her feet "taste"
the ground, she wants to be put down.
She will stay close but she loves being
on her own two feet.
Hopefully she will love books!

High five to the story time rabbit.  Where
Dev and I were every Saturday reading
to the keiki not so long ago.

Tea party...Dev and Bobo set up.  They love
tea parties!  Clapping more especially we sing,
"Clap clap your hands..."

This was a great day.  I came good on my word and took
Bobo to the fish store.  He had received a free pole from
some neighborhood boys.  The shop owner was so nice
and set us up with how to put on fishing line, a hook,
and a weight.
She was showing him how to measure the
size fish to keep.
No license required.

He was really excited!

One of Bobo's recent prayers was...
thank you God that James and Trey (neighborhood boys)
have a heart to play with me."
A new phase we have entered is Bobo going to
a friends house to play.

The waves were a bit big for fishing.

""Here is this vast, savage, howling mother of ours,
nature, lying all around, with such beauty, and such
affection for her children, as the leopard;
and yet we are so easily weaned from her breast to
society, to that culture which is exclusively
an interaction of man on man."  Henry David Thoreau.
(quote that came through Wildandfree.com)

He was a bit discouraged and I tried to explain to him
that fishing takes a lot of patience and conditions
were not the best.  We will try again.
I love that the rolls I see around my midsection
she does not see.
She only see LOVE.

She was still worth every roll!!!
Deveraux said, "Mom, Cambria looks like
you when she yawns."
I loved hearing that!

A beautiful night of worship at our church.  Cathie Laurie spoke
on friendship.  She said we are lonely because we were created
for friendship.  We were made for friendship.  She said our friendships
will make us.  She used David as an example of 3 different friends:
King Maker was Samuel.  The Faithful friend was Jonathan and
faithful wounder was Nathan. who spoke truth to David.
I would love to continue to have all three of those
kinds of friends in my life.  Lately, relationship dealings
have not come so easily.  I have felt
My prayer is for God to reveal to me my heart in this matter.

Good-bye shorts...faithful pregnancy shorts.
I'm having a hard time giving these up.
Dev definitely thinks I should give this up...
She doesn't know that I went to Blue Ginger when
I first stated counseling here in Maui and spent what
felt like a lot of money at the time on "Maui" clothes.
This is what remains.  It is good to look back.
Andrew said I traded the belly for the baby, anyday!!

Cambria Debuted her first acting experience in
Sunday school.  Her stage name is Skippy and
she goes on adventures with "Drake".
She was a hit!

They are adventure people.

This to me is happiness in a box.  I love getting new house
plants, right now my favorite décor item for our house.

Dev for fun had put Cambria in the middle seat.
I realized they had on matching blue!
Yes, I'll take them!
In Costco, trying out a skateboard.

A new backpack he is very excited about.  Bobo
loves gear.
This is our new happy space.  I finally painted the
wood desk white.  I was reading a blog and was
encourage to just go on and paint that thing you
have been wanting to paint!  Also, our sweet
friend gave me the shelf.
White paint + sweet friend + Daughter stylist =

A really cute space for guests!
Dev and I worked hard on the two guest rooms.

Dev and Bobo took my phone one day for
a photo shoot and movie making.

Sunset at Launiapoko...My sweet friend Marci
came for a visit.  We were able to see her and
her two kiddos a few times.  It was great to
connect.
Dev and Bobo were so excited to show me
how Cambria was making a sound when
she clapped.
On our way to ukulele lesson,
he painted a picture for his teacher.
Local Style...drinks and spam musubi!
We celebrated my friend Kelly's birthday at
a beautiful home.  I have never walked in
the front door only to be outside again.
The grounds were quite beautiful!
I thought, "I could do this with my kids."  Have this be our
home and hang out and watch them play in the pool.
I could do this."  ha ha
So the front door going out and the living spaces
are on either side...it was wild but cool.
Cambria and the girls...
happy birthday Kelly, she has been
a good and old friend on this island!
Every morning we pray before Drew heads
off to work.  I love this gathering.  Sometimes,
it's just one of the kiddos but on this morning, all three.

Bobo was asked by friends to attend a baseball camp for
a day.  He had a great time!
And we continue to purge!  This day we worked on the kitchen!

Our summer purging continues!
We took on Bobo's room!
Sweet slumber!
A new friend that we surprised by singing
happy birthday, she is alone on island right now.
My friend suggested we bring her treats and
it was such a great idea..this is the good stuff of life!
Book Club!

Surfing in the living room!

Skippy came back for her final performance
in Sunday School.

Doing great baby!

Bobo reaching out

I have loved doing Sunday School as a family.
Dev and I lead worship and Bobo joins us sometimes.
And Andrew and I have the opportunity to lead
the kiddos in skits and activities.
Sunday afternoon nap.
