Cambria's First Birthday!

We simply love you.
Cambria spent her morning in Sunday School as
we had to teach, beloved by all!
Dada entertained.  We were pretty tired with our
getting to bed after 3:00 am and needing to dive
into teaching Sunday School.
Got home and went right to work making cupcakes.
Deveraux was honestly by my right hand the entire day.
I could not (and would not have wanted) to do
it without her!
Bobo wanted to help with Cambria's cake.
Love seeing my two girls,
what a span of time!

Walking more and more.
We took this because she found some chocolate as
we were making her SUGAR free cake.
Homemade!  Chocolate, vanilla, and Cambria's cake
and three different frostings.  I washed out that
Kitchen aide mixer many times!
My partner...we work so well together.

She has not idea it is her birthday!

Cambria Blooms!  The theme of our party!
Blooms for Cambria.  Dreams and hopes in
a time capsule that she will open when she
gets older.  Dev wanted to do this as we did
it for her first birthday.  Dev also came up with
Blooms for Cambria.

I gobble it up when anyone says we look alike!

You will forever be a sign of God's goodness!

Praying for our girl.
Deciding what to do for Cambria's birthday wasn't easy.
For many local families, the first birthday comes with
a big party.  I had thought of that.  But I was really
missing having my family here.  I thought about not
having a party and just our family hanging out but
I wanted to mark the day, to celebrate.
I also felt torn because I didn't want to be stressed
or running all around for a party that would pull
me away from who I was celebrating.  I had to
ask myself what would Cambria want?  I know
she would want our presence.  So I decided on
baby beach with the five of us and cupcakes
with a few folks in the evening.  Well in part
because of our day before and getting stuck on
the other side and because I choose to make
homemade cupcakes..we ended up working
all afternoon on the party.  I kinda knew I had
to let the beach go and I didn't want to put
so much pressure on myself for the day.   I did
have a couple sweet moments with Cambria
during the day.  But bottom line I learned, if
you throw a party and your house it will just
take work.  It is hard to have both...relaxed
hang out meaningful day and throw a party.
I wanted to just speak a few words.  It has not been
lost on me once during the last year this blessing
I hold in my arms.  I especially looked at the kiddos
in our group and let them know Cambria was
a sign of God's faithfulness.  I will continue to shout
that from the mountain top...."The Lord heard my cry!"
She is a marker for faith.

Bobo sang "I'm no longer a slave"...I am a
child of God, a favorite family worship song.

"I sing for Joy at the works of Your Hands!"
Our Cambria verse.

I told them they could go for it.

Then we went upstairs for a little bath.

We want to make sparklers a tradition for
Cambria's birthday every year.

Cambria blooms, sparkles, and shines!

Our sweet friends.  Malia was there when Cambria
came home and Paula hosted my baby shower.
More sweet friends who love Cambria!
A good celebration!
