Drew's Birthday!

My man celebrated his birthday!  Now Drew is not a
huge celebration kind of guy.  But he loves connection
and to have a day that feels intentional.  He changed celebrating
his birthday from January 2 (day of birth) to July 2 because
he always felt a bit missed after the fullness of the
holiday season.  However, it is a bit ironic to me because
he is not that big of a celebration guy.
So of course we had to chat about it, because that is what we do.
He said he loves connection.  He doesn't have huge expectations
of the day but I believe he wants to be seen and be
given to in his love language.  So he let us know what he
wanted for the day.
He teaches me a lot.  I celebrate his desire to engage and
connect.  To love well those around him.  To strive and
want more.  To give generously to people where it counts.
To be intentional in his words and actions.  To love me,
know me, and hang in there with me.  To welcome three
little lives to invade his own.  I Love our together!
I love that I can be me with him.
Blessed beyond measure Andrew Gallagher!

We began with the batting cage.  It was fun!

Outback...(where we were one year ago exactly...then we ran
some errands, ending at Costco....got home late and
by midnight, my water broke).  Here we are with are baby.
It was also not lost on me that I was in this Target a year ago,
feeling really thirsty and tired with this baby in my belly.
It's funny but I was thirsty and had picked up a Vitamin
water and chocolate milk...very similar....mmmmm.
She is completely wild about her daddy!
So is he.
We ran some errands for this girls birthday
the next day.  I felt bad because it was Drew's
day, but we had not been able to get to the
other side before today.  Drew was okay with it
until we learned there was a fire and the
road was closed leading home.

Its midnight!  Her birthday!
This is not a great picture of the fire.  But there were
these little fires around as we finally were able
to make it home.  We were in the car for 5 hours
waiting for the road to open....and made it home at 2:30 am!
As I was in the shower at about 3:00 am, again a reminder
of where I was a year ago...in so much pain of labor but
ready to meet this new little one that would give
us such joy.  So Andrew missed out a bit as
the focus was on errands and then trying to
get home.  I love that he and Cambria now have
a story connection, we just need to make sure
he has that connection as we celebrate his birth!
