Sydney & Aloha Australia!

She wanted to try holding Cambria in the Ergo!
We leave today for Sydney and we are ready.
My free coffee, complements of the hotel since
we chose to skip housekeeping for a couple
mornings in our stay, we got vouchers
towards food.  Drew and I travel well together!
Math on the go, trying to get in a lesson on the plane.
We had a very crowded bus ride into the
city.  I was standing right next to the bus
driver with Cambria on my back and Dev
was about in the doorway.  The public
tram was down so it was buses for everyone!
Back to tall buildings, our family loves a good city!
And I will never tire of this scene, watching
them walk with luggage on the city streets
our way to another adventure.
Walking into our hotel room was such a
surprise as we saw the Sydney Opera House
for the first time....from our room window!

Yes, we are here baby girl!
Andrew let us know that there was a show for
kids in one of the theatres in the Sydney Opera House.
We quickly changed and hit the streets.  It was
very fun to be spontaneous and in reflection,
this was a highlight for both of our kiddos.
A magical experience coming out of the theatre that night.
Magic.  City lights, reflection on the water, street lamps,
all the theatre feels...it was beautiful.
One of my little's was unhappy about something,
I let them know I wanted to stay in the
magical moment.

Bobo had a moment at street performing, he
drew a little crowd and even got a tip which
he gave back to the piano player.
Dev wanted a turn so we sang together.
And then I ended up singing "Edelweiss"
on the streets of Sydney, Australia.
Mama can still have fun people at 10 pm!

Morning stop at the Rock area in a bakery
for breakfast.

Cool backdrops for pics!
Different textures!

We missed celebrating due to traveling.

Not short on pictures this day!

Love their walking hand in hand.  I will miss that
one day and glad Bobo still goes for his dada's hand.
Onto the Sydney Bay Bridge

Almost Fall in Australia.

Dev and I love finding these little areas.
(Her pics)

Growth!
Darling Harbor
After much discussion, Bobo, Cambria, and I
went to the Maritime museum while Drew and Dev
went to another museum.  Much to our disappointment
we could not tour the ship because of Cambria's
size.  Bobo handled it well and we enjoyed
walking around, a shark movie, and the
gift shop.
Bobo's picture of the shark movie.

I really love being with this guy.
Another cool playground to explore!

We had a quick "date" while our kids
watched a street performer.
Love the Harbor at night lit up!

Ready to adventure in our hats!
...maybe?

Bondai Beach for the morning.  We took a
bus there and we were blessed with beauty.

They had an pool right next to the ocean,
called the Ice Bergs, it was cold!

We took at great walk along the coast, it
kept going and going.  But alas, we had
more to fit into our day, so we headed back
as Drew wanted to try the pools.

We all got in!

Very fun experience!

Now onto the ferry to head to Manly Bay.

I was told by my friend that we had to get
fish and chips while on Manly Bay.

But during our lovely little picnic, a seagull came swooping down
and grabbed Deveraux's fish and make her come to tears because
he touched her cheek and scared her. We were mad at that bird!
Right after this outing, I was going to connect with a
woman I had met on the plane coming over to Sydney.  We made a
connection  and she got me a last minute ticket to  Hillsong Australia.  But
when I was trying to see if I could get back on the ferry, I realized I did not have
my wallet (gasp) and  Dev started crying again, and Bobo wanted me to see a
surf board he loved.  Ugh!  I really wanted to go but therewas a lot of stress
going on and I was running out of time. I was trying to communicate with this
new friend through email because she couldn't call me, but my battery died.
I gave up, especially in light of my lost wallet.  Thankfully
my wallet was turned in at the lost in found at the Sydney harbor.
And all was well with everyone. Then Bobo and I went out for take out and he
got ice cream, we were happy.
And then fireworks in our room.
We like to think they were our
Australian send off.

And then I watched outside for a bit
while everyone slept, just loved our view.

We got in a morning run together.

We found ourselves in the botanical gardens.

Loved the little café next to our hotel, looked
very European to me.

Then we rushed to the Sydney Opera House
to see if we could get a tour before we had
to get on the plane.  But tours were filled so
Dev gave us a bit of a tour.

Our last stop at our expensive bakery.

Homeward Bound.
We had a angel at the airport that set us up
with 6 seats for the way home!

We were grounded due to rainy weather.  First time
Bobo saw forceful lighting.
Some overall impressions of Australia:
The people were friendly and helpful, we love the accents (mate), money
takes getting used to, time zone and driving are different.  However, we also
felt there were many similarities.  Certain words like lift (elevator),
lollies (candy), nd sunnies (sunglasses) would catch our attention.
Tomato sauce (ketchup) was an extra charge.  And when we went up to a
counter to ask for something, they would ask,"How you going?"
Togetherness! So many little conversations.  Moments to enjoy and
moments to correct. Time to hold a hand adventuring together.  Time to say yes.
Time to kiss cheeks over and over.  Time to say, "I can't believe we are here."
Trip brings intentionality if you allow.
7 Flights, 5 Australian airport's, lots of buses and trams.
Highlights: Driving the boat, Sydney Opera house and the show we saw, exploring Byron Bay.
It's a wrap!I love how on our trips our kids learn how to ride a bus, how to be resourceful, ask for what they need, and take on an area and a day.  I say good life skills!
So tried.  And so thankful for a clean home. Now to unpack!
Thank you Kimberly for welcoming us home!
A long travel!

A home cooked meal...had to get the spaghetti all
over baby's face" picture!
