Here we come July!

It's 4th of July!

We were glad to celebrate with our friends.

Brother helping his sister put on the tights
she is wanting to wear in July.
Legos were brought back out after being in
hibernation for a bit.
Watching the progress
A much better than late birthday gift from my boy.
Dev was wanting to do a little photo shoot and this
girl cannot resist getting in on the action!

Dev is working on a project. I love her
creativity in announcing a surprise coming....

A podcast she is working on.
These two enjoying construction.

Summer is not summer without a water hose.
This back lanai has held some water fun!

Right before I quickly got kitty off the bed.
What is it about diaper cream that is so exciting?!?
She loves digging through her basket that sits
on her dresser...it is filled with odds and ends.
This reminded me of summer evenings.
Soft light, wet hair from bath, and a gown.

She loves to play in the car!
Bringing out the slip and slide.

A couple evenings at the Ritz.

He wanted to show Papa D, he remembers
riding the lawn mower in Mississippi.
I had the thought today as I came home...
too many plants?
New shoes.  She likes them and so now
we will probably start wearing shoes at 2.

Barnes and Noble with these cool cats!
His favorite...a surf shop.
Popsicle's!

This maybe was supposed to be 2, but
she can only hold up 1 finger.

Always Inventing!
A birthday present from our friends, although she
is a bit scared of the pig.
She loves this ride that she can now get one,
this has seen a lot of wear from past rides.
We saw this little floatie friend and found it
at Target, anything to get the love of water going!
We are enjoying some mornings at Launiapoko.

We had to get the carpets cleaned due to some
birds who believed it was their space while we
were away on the other side for a day... we
left a door open that is often left open, oops!
Oh hello Snap Chat.
Beauty inside and out.  Always has been true.
This sign that hangs outside our front door caught me
one day.  Thinking about mom who wrote it for me as
we wanted to name our house like so many in Carmel
by the Sea.  Oh mom, we do have blessed assurance
even when it is hard to see.

Much like soccer or football, this is his field.  I want to support
that and bring him to the water.
This is Maui light.  This is familiar as I make
the climb up to home.  This cloudy formation,
this soft light, and these trees.  It is a familiar
new.  It still does not seem like the landscape
that is my past, but it has been this way for many
years now.
Breakfast.  Cambria loves these stools.
On an add for Chat books, she caught her face.
Picking out Plumbagos for us to plant at the back
fence.  Now that we will have a house to look at,
we want to see it through plants.

Helping out

Yes, progress reports complete!

Our month to help at Sunday School, Drew and I make a good team.
Not a good pic, but I can't delete that smile.
Walking the beach with my girls.  Talking to my older
one about friends and stepping out when it is
uncomfortable.
My two!
She will look at her in that way more times
than we will count in her lifetime.

A fun photo shoot.

Hey Bobo!

I will always take these encouragements for the journey.
Recreating Bobo's 2 year old birthday party.
Passing on a love of comics, the things we hand down.
And a love for kitty.
A happy Birthday to my dear friend Kellie.
We have seen many days together on Maui,
starting before I had my three.  I appreciate her in my life.

Playing together is best!
Yep, she climbed!

Love
Bobo with the camera....our views everyday.

A new seat passed on from the neighbors who
recently moved.  Often she would just sit
on the table (3rd child) because her high chair
was outside.

A stop in Whole Foods for lunch and a
new water bottle.  My sentimental self after
getting water bottles for Dev and Bobo when they
were little at Whole Foods, had to get one for Cambria.
She couldn't stop drinking from it.
Hanging in TJ Maxx, a favorite stop.
Next stop, Target....with this silly one.  We have great times here!

So on this night, she embraced the waves for the
first time.  It was magical as she discovered
first the feel of the wave and then standing more
on shore the fun of the wave as it just keeps
coming back for more.  It was so fun and delightful
to bear witness.

Here I am ocean and here you are waves!
Just giggling

And then, Dev caught a wave!
So proud of her.  She is all about facing her
fears and stepping into the unknown.
Sometimes she places pressure on herself and we
talked about the difference between courage and
anxiety to do something.  Difficult territory. I know.

yeahoo Dev!

Still living the plants!
Stalling for nap.

Nap time represents an "Ahhhh".  It is so restorative
for me.  Teaching and working from home and not
sometimes getting space to think or be, it is a welcomed
hour.
My sweet friend Marci and her two kids came to visit.  Marci
is such a dear friend that I met in Maui and now she lives
in CA.  I love our fast and furious talks as we catch up
on the last year of our life when she comes to visit.

These two have been friends since Kindergarten.  I am so thankful
to be welcomed in and have their pursuit of my heart.

We had a good time getting the just right selfie.

Love that we have history, their mama's both saw Dev as a baby.

We celebrated Malia at our house for her birthday and
she taught us how to make slime.

Dev made a beautiful cake!

We love Malia....our neighbor and friend since
the girls were little.

A fun slumber party!
Waving me in from my run!
Coming in....
