Deveraux's first Spring Break!

These cute little slippers were made by a new friend, Young. Her husband, Eugene, leads our small group we attend each week. We are glad to be meeting new people from our church. Young is so sweet with our children. She is an artist and enjoys creating with Deveraux. We went over to their house one afternoon and she made these slippers!

Deveraux sewed her first bag!

Every afternoon during spring break, Deveraux would listen to "Little House on the Prairie" books on tape. I love that she loves the stories my sisters and I treasured growing up!

It was a nice mellow time each afternoon during her break. Anderson loves this fire truck puzzle. On this particular time of piecing it together, he did much of the puzzle by himself!

Library Books!!

Funny Bobo! We had a lot of home time during Spring Break. Both kiddos battled some sicknesses and we also had rain during the week. Of course, I was hoping for an amazing spring break for Deveraux, but realized, she doesn't really have a framework for what spring break is "supposed" to look like. It was nice just being home and not having to get ready and get to school. When we are at home and Dev and Anderson are playing well, the house is picked up, and we are all just comfortable in our spaces, there is an "ahhhh" feeling!

Tried to go to the ocean, the kids were so excited, it was like they had springs in their feet as we headed to the sand, but it was cold. So we played a little further up where the wind was not so cool! It is beautiful, but I miss the warm Maui ocean for them!

Deveraux's first birthday party for a school friend. The mom hostess graciously allowed Bobo to stay and partake of wings, face painting, balloons, and cake! He loves pink, so it worked!

Deveraux loves getting her face painted! She chose a dolphin.

Of course....a firetruck!

Walking to the car, Bobo learned that when balloons are let go of, they fly away. Many tears, Deveraux quickly said she would go back and get another one for him. In the car, Bobo learned you cannot poke balloons with objects or they pop. Deveraux quickly gave her balloon to him. Sweet Deveraux. It is hard for her to see him sad.

We ended the week at a festival, "The good old days" in Pacific Grove. It was a sweet festival in such a good feeling town.

They had a little petting zoo. Deveraux really wants a rabbit...

Bobo liked the goats!

Not so sure about the rabbits

I found two treasures! I found this sweet little white wagon tucked in this shelf for $10.00 at a garden shop and then I found a little corner book case for $8.00. A favorite thing of mine is finding inexpensive treasures, great fun!

A young girl had set up a table for free face painting, Deveraux was excited!

If we didn't live in Carmel, I would enjoy Pacific Grove. I wish I could capture it better in pictures. It doesn't feel "touristy" and it has a older main street feel, but not past it's time. Interesting houses, churches on each corner, you can walk, and the ocean is seen at the end of the streets!
