Even though Anderson partook in the great tradition of dying eggs last year, he didn't remember, so it was a new experience.
So in one corner of our cozy kitchen we had dying of Easter eggs and in the other, making pizza!
Andrew had the great idea of using a flower cookie cutter to make individual pizza's for us!
I felt a little wild and crazy that we didn't sit down to eat dinner until about 9:00 pm, but it was just us and it was great. Reflecting later as I was putting Anderson to sleep, I thought, tonight, there was no where else I would have rather been then sitting on the floor dying eggs with Anderson and Deveraux, while my husband made us dinner! No where else....
I love our eggs! Anderson's are all the pink ones, he loves pink or red
Here is our first Mom's group gathering I went to in CA! Kinda wild after all we did in Maui, but good. I felt both sad that I didn't have Deveraux with me due to school, but glad to be experiencing it with Anderson. The moms were kind and inviting!
Getting ready for the hunt!
Bobo found one of the prize eggs!!
It's Easter treat time for the neighbors and firehouse!
Cake Pops! Thought we would try them out, not perfect, I was a little discouraged, but Deveraux loved them and we had a great time making them. Andrew was very patient as I always attack projects and steamroller through them, kind of using some impromptu skills as I go...as witnessed by the shoe box below.
Will try not to give those sprinkles to the neighbors....
Would do a few things differently next time....but I have a great family willing to go on the "ride" with me for a bit. I was running around saying, "I just need to think" as my "packaging" was not going according to plan, they just waited as they were the delivery crew...thanks sweet family! On their delivery they found a lost dog, so the kids had a fun night of watching a lost dog until the owner came and I could clean the kitchen! Yeahoo!
We have had some good moments this week! I also found another blog (thanks Katy) called, As I Rise, which gave us wonderful ideas of what to do for this Holy Week. It is so wonderful to do practical family activities to make the story of Jesus come alive...I feel very thankful!
