A treasure truck (packing take 2)

Our treasure truck arrived.  Stored for many years.

I sit in the old plastic chair that graced our home in our beginning.
Now it is 19 years later.
Nothing has changed and everything has changed.

How is that?
I look at the past in pictures.
We seemed carefree, young, light....is that just a pictures' deception?

Now love seems richer and deeper and also heavier.
I hide away in the garage (my three loves inside) just to steel a rare minute and
savor in what used to be, who I used to be?

It makes me miss my sisters.  It makes me miss old friends.
Some remain and some were for a season.
Of course they started playing right away. Setting up a shop.

Okay note cards, lots and lots of note cards, brings back memories of studying for exams!

Some working....some surfing!
I miss Marvene (our dear friend who lost her battle to cancer but won her days in heaven with Jesus).
She wrote as we make our first move together away from home in Co to Baton Rouge :
"Andrew, you've only made me want to know you more...
i'm glad Shannon has you (but i can't believe you've not seen
Fiddler on the Roof ....) upon arriving in your new home "far from
the land (she) loves", you must make it your priority to watch it.
Shannon, for you this little "Chula bird, gentle and kind and affectionate-
you've always made me want to know you more-and it seems there is
a spring that runs deep in you where there always is more.
Spend the candles
alone together
and with new friends....share with them your bread and your wine
and the wealth of yourselves (you'll find yourselves staying magically
connected with all those you love)"

Thank you Marvene...yes, wonderful new friends, splendid adventures,
eight moves later, 3 different states, and 2 babies!

Do people write notes anymore in graduate school?  So many notes!

One of Drew's favorite books, "Why cats paint."

Yep.  Wedding bouquet and veil!

Our dad's albums...Papa Lala and Papa D

Stefany's bridesmaid dress

Heather's bridesmaid's dress

a memorable birthday restaurant glass.

I had told Deveraux about these toe shoes.  Flash back when my sisters
and I would watch the Ballet West company in Snowmass, Co while on
vacation.  One day the ballerinas threw away their old shoes.  We were there
pulling them out of the trash, with sheer excitement.  I had told
Deveraux this story.  She waited all day for this box with ballet
slippers.  It came at the end of the day.  They will hang in her bedroom,
for her dreams!

This was the other item long awaited for Deveraux, our wedding album.
It was in the last box and about 11 pm in the evening.  I am so excited
to go through our items once settled and share my stories
with my girl and remember for me.

A rich life indeed.
we are all just passing through.

A truck of treasures Andrew brought from Colorado as he lovingly made the 3 day journey.
Boxes and boxes.
Memory upon Memory.

Once Bobo was in that seat in the truck getting ready
to take it back, he did not budge.
He said, "Oh I wish we could keep it."
For us it all the treasures in the truck, I believe
for Bobo it was the truck.  A treasure truck indeed!
