Our days

Learning our letters
Bobo and I spend a little time together
working on letters and sounds during
the morning.

We found a fun project on line using watercolors....Art for friends.
It is fun to give art away.
Mike, who was Andrew's youth pastor growing up and his wife
Kathy were in town.  We invited them over for an impromptu
time of worship with friends and a time for Mike to share
about their ministry.
Andrew called up friends the night before, feeling like it would be a good
thing for us all to share in.  He just said, come tomorrow night, and they did!
What a picture of The church and community!

One of my favorite things is seeing Christians coming
together who did not know each other prior, but gather and
witnessing the fellowship and connection that occurs.

homeschooling happens not just in the morning at the table....
Drew working with Deveraux on double digit subtraction.
We headed to The Farm.  I have been wanting to check this
farm out in Salinas for awhile.  The Farm was celebrating
the end of the summer season.

Oh I love a good farm store!
and there was watermelon
(glad Bobo was sporting his hand guards for riding bikes)

One day I was writing about how my life is so full with my
children.  I breathe them.  They are such an extension of me
that sometimes I don't look at them as a calling, separate, or
fulfilling because they are just a part of me which includes
all the good, bad, and ugly.  If I do step outside my life with
them looking in-They are the best gift I will ever receive,
the best work I will ever put my hand to.
To have at your beckoned call, people who love you,
think you are the greatest, instant company...
these two little's will following me
to the ends of the earth....it is amazing.
You get to think of ways that they will be blessed
and surprise them...if you choose.
You know exactly what will delight them and you can
choose to do it!
They just want you.
My kids are always ready to receive my love.

Tonight as I was putting Bobo to bed.  I believe he felt that his
blanket wasn't covering his whole body as completely
as it used to.  He said, " I am growing."
Without any hint of feeling on my part, I asked, nonchalantly,
"and how do you feel about that?"
He said...."good...and I know you don't want me to grow."
We think we can hide from our kids.
I said the appropriate line which I feel just a little bit,
"I want you to grow Bobo, that is what you are supposed to do."
Just not too fast or too much.

Bobo settled himself quickly with a book.
It is funny, I will tell Bobo he can sit and read a book.
He will tell me matter of factly, "I can't read."  But he will always pick
up books and "read" them, he loves looking at them.

All sorts of yumminess to take home.

I think I could have lived a farm life....I think.
Andrew, no.  He doesn't even like to cut grass (hee hee).
