Packing...take one

A couple of days ago we decided to begin packing the garage and just cleaning up in anticipation of Andrew bringing a moving van here in less then a week with more stuff!  So we just rolled up our sleeves and started earlier than when I thought we would be starting.  As I took the first picture, I recalled the first boxes packed in Maui, fast forward 2 years, 2 months.....here we are.....
First Box!

Bobo asked if we were moving to Maui that day.  Ahhhh the innocence of children.  If only....
A gentle reminder, they really have no idea of the magnitude of being an adult and that is good and I don't need to express all the stress as I might feel in the upcoming weeks.

I told Andrew I had the similar feeling the evening we started packing as I usually have during my last night in Colorado.   I have begun to separate from the crowd.  We are reminded once again that we do not live in Colorado and cannot fool ourselves that we live in the casualness of the day to day.   I know I need to pack, to be ready in the morning, to negotiate airport and children.  It is that sinking feeling.  I had a taste of that as we once again began the moving process. We have begun to separate.  Carmel will no longer be home.  I will no longer have that feeling of night upon night upon night.  There is an end in sight.  Oh it makes me feel loss.
That evening (Labor Day) our friends, Young and Eugene
came over.  We shared a meal and then headed to the beach.
This is my $35.00 table I was so proud of purchasing.
Eugene took the top off, hoping we will be able to find
some good wood to make a new table top.
My sentimental self has found a way to not save everything,
just take a picture of everything!
The book Deveraux and I worked on, where she
first put words together to read.

Bobo's highchair!  We used it when we came.
He grew!  Bobo is just as sentimental as I am...

The next evening they both couldn't wait to pack.  Bobo said, "This is the funnest job I ever had."

Tonight Deveraux said, "I love packing, I could do it all night.  I love getting stuff out we haven't seen in awhile and then packing it."  She is on it.  She loves writing on the boxes, taping them, wrapping the breakables.  It does make it more enjoyable and a bit more bearable with the two of them...except when Bobo takes items out that have already been packed.
Packing....take one!

Our Labor Day/First day of packing Sunset...it was wow!
