January days....

A good month to start the year with many good moments...
.
UN
N
UNO!  We want to start playing more games as a family, so here we go
with one of my favorites growing up!
The kids have enjoyed playing
Hail!  Couldn't believe it!  Fun to share with Bobo one morning...
If we had smores and fires every night they would love it!
We spent some hours with Joy our dear friend on her birthday!
It is performance time!
I think this was a drum set...
American doll play time
...love that he has the princess pads on!
Deveraux found a haircutting "cape" that Tia left here,
 and a costume was made!
We had great fun, we took a walk to the Forest theatre in our neighborhood and
the kids sang and danced and sang and danced and then sang and danced some more!!!
I have never seem my car as a superhero...loved it!
Big bow from Bobo
They even had a song with choreography..walking towards each other
and onto the stage...great fun!  Drew and I just enjoyed sitting
and watching it all, our two!  As parents it is wonderful to watch your kids
together and find much pleasure, joy, amusement, pride, and love in them!
Birthday party fun making bird feeders and face painting

Young and Eugene invited us over for Korean New Year with
yummy food, so much variety and new foods we had never tried.  A lot
of work and love went into the preparation!  We were given
two amazing paintings from Young that evening, so blessed!
Bobo got Deveraux!  Drew and I loved walking in on this as
we are always the ones subject to his crazy sleeping positions.

Deveraux lost a tooth and the note is below.  She told me she wrote,
"I like you" because she doesn't know the tooth fairy well enough to write that
she "loves" her.

Showing Bobo what the good fairy brought her...
We have found a fun museum, Pacific Grove Natural History Museum
They were cocoons

Then this sweet little cocoon turned into a butterfly
This coolest nest was outside the museum

We had a play date with our friend from China, Belinda.
I had a great date with friends to Santa Cruz to celebrate Joy's
birthday.  I am so very thankful for these two friends!
A little trolley ride down to the restaurant

Oh this was a big night!  Unplanned but long awaited for us!  I had been
wanting a console table for many years and Andrew wanting a recliner for
about 40 years!!  I decided to say, yes, to the recliner and I made my man
happy!  We had a very fun night of celebrating and the kids were right
in there with us!!

I love this look of Drew's
Everybody is excited!
Trying it out...
I have been resistant to a recliner to many reasons
for many years:
  1) space  2) represents "old man" 3) we would no longer sit together
We were laughing because Andrew was on the other side of the room when
we set up the recliner and we imagined that I could just holler our what was
happening on the show we were watching.  Since the recliner has entered our
door, we still sit together and I am happy to make him happy.
Story time...we are back going to our Carmel library on Wednesdays at 10:00
A stop is often made at the fire station just one block over from
the library.  This fire fighter was on his first official day as his probation
ended the day before.  I couldn't believe he had remembered Bobo's
 name from a precious visit.
As we were saying hello, they received a call.
So this is one of those lessons that "mama's don"t always know..."  and a good reminder our kids
 offer us about life.
So we see the fire truck leave the station and Bobo says, "can we follow it?"
"Oh No Bobo, we could never catch it."  I respond.
He insists we can follow it.
I insist that we cannot.
Logically, it is just not possible, see we are on foot and the truck is driving.
There is no way possible.
That is until we head back to the library and what do you know,
the Carmel Fire department in the parking lot trying to get a little child out of an accidentally locked car.
Sometimes Life defies logic and our kids remind us that it can....
You were right Bobo, we could follow it.
And we did.
Ahhh Bobo pushing Nora in her stroller...again, a moment
where time seems to have just gone by so fast.
We have enjoyed meeting our friends for story time and then hanging
out in Carmel downtown after.
So we are so proud of our dada.  We went to work last
week for a quarterly work party.  He won some sales awards!
It is always fun to go visit him at work.
It is very fun to see our kids looking at their dad proudly!
Andrew also had won two awards at the Christmas party.
Deveraux on the way home from the work party said, "I am so excited for dada."
Bobo said, "This is a bad day because dada is not with us."
They had a great time seeing dada!
Boxes make for great play...Deveraux set up a doctors office,
so she could play "Doc Mcstuffins" which is a favorite show where a little
girl is an stuffed animal doctor.
January 31st
Deveraux learning how to embroider
Good-bye January
Hello February!
