So we found out that Andrew will be either start November 2nd or
December 2nd in Maui. Andrew wants to take a leave of absence
for 60 days before we are asked to come for both packing and a bit of
travel. We probably won't know which date he will start until a couple of
weeks before. We have decided his last day at Highlands Inn Hyatt
will be October 2nd and if we are called in for the November date, he will
just have a shorter leave of absence.
We will hopefully be packed up and ready to leave by October 3rd.
We will hop in our van (exhausted I am sure) and head out, ready to explore
Oregon, Washington State, and Canada..
When Andrew receives the call to come to Maui,
we will head back to Carmel to pack our things
from storage into a container to be shipped to Maui.
He will head to Maui, we will head to Colorado
for a visit while we also wait for out house to be
vacated so we can all move in.
Wow. As I write all these plans, it becomes more reality.
Andrew booked a trip to Colorado in a couple of weeks to drive some of our things we have had in storage there for several years (thank you Glossinger's). He said he also felt the reality that we are finally on the move.
I have felt that God has really answered some prayers through this summer of faith.
What a journey. I felt I received the answer to my prayer that my heart would change towards Maui when I thought of both of how I could bless Andrew and how I
could fulfill my new "job" (as my mom coined it so well) of homeschooling,
There is no sweet in the bitter of leaving.
I cannot put a "good spin" on saying good-bye to this place and these friendships.
But if I focus on what is ahead, it helps.
This is the only way I see homeschooling working is to head to Maui.
And this is what I feel I need in my mothering at this time.... a single focus, a time
to give my kids of myself and create an atmosphere that I believe we
can offer them, it also provides a move for Andrew that he feels really good about professionally, and we will re-connect with our Maui ohana.
So for now, that is where we are....of course, always subject to change as we know this season has given us....
Day by day, of course.
