We journeyed on this trip in April (just posting it now).
Thanks to Papa D, he let me use his camera as mine broke
day 2 of our trip.
First stop....San Francisco to pick up Papa D and Tia (Andrew's parents).
Papa D and Tia wanted to surprise Bobo for his birthday.
We had talked about them coming last year when he turned 3, but the timing
did not work out. Well they worked it out this year.
Starting on this trip I received a picture of how I believe God desires our trust and dependence.
Bobo really did not know where we were going, he did not have all the details mapped out, he
"packed" his suitcase with some underwear, a few shirts, diapers, and shorts and never thought about it again. It struck me as we stopped at the hotel that Bobo simply trusts. He knows he will be taken care of because he knows us and knows we love him.
God desires that same kind of trust from us.
I am such a "mapped" out person, we can learn from these babes of ours!
So we walked into the hotel and Papa D and Tia popped out, Bobo just stopped and
stared, he was definitely shocked trying to take it all in.....
Here we go!
First stop...Stinson Beach
Stinson beach....where San Fran people go for sun and
hang out time on the beach!
We enjoyed this little time at a park and yummy fries and ice cream cones.
We are off to a good start!
"BoBolicious" Had to stop and get a picture.
The town of Bolinas.
It is a small town out of the way, with no sign indicating the town,
to keep people like us from coming in and taking pictures in front of buildings.
We saw many many cows those first days, more
than even people!
Highway 1
Bobo was so good during all the road trips, he would play
with his stuffed animals, look at his picture books, and his
Lego sticker book, look out the window, and enjoy snacks!
First night! In Santa Rosa
My sweet husband made this all possible...
I love him for providing these adventures.
(He's cute too)
Bakery Weekend!!!
A fun bakery in Point Reyes Station
Good bakery treats. No fuss coffee, no lattes, mochas, just coffee.
Regulars leave their coffee mugs for the next time.
lots of driving, more than 1500 miles,
many of the miles were on winding roads.
beautiful coastline
Point Reyes Lighthouse.....can you say windy!
It was over 40 miles an hour wind.
It is very common for this lighthouse to have so much wind.
When it is this windy, the won't allow visitors down the stairs
to the light house. We were bummed.
So was Bobo who was asleep.
Deveraux's Haiku poem about this lighthouse:
Blows me into the Sky
shivery, swaying
In the cool breeze on the shore of the lighthouse
blows me off the ground.
He woke up to experience the wind!
very picturesque, yet, you realized the kind of
life these keepers led. Isolated and windy!
road trip!
from the car window as we drove, beautiful green hills
and beautiful coastline.
Pt. Arena Lighthouse....in Mendocino
We arrived too late to tour the lighthouse.
My girl got out with me to take some pics, it was windy!
On to Ft. Bragg for some sleep!
