We headed to Gilroy Gardens with friends!
Deveraux and Emeline
"Mike the Knight"
It was just Deveraux and one other rider on the swings!
He actually rode alone. I still can't believe it.
I needed to ride with Emeline and so I looked at Bobo and asked,
can you ride alone, he said yes. All I said was,
"don't get out of the car!"
My driver!
Bobo and I out on our date....of course, a burrito bowl!
We then headed for the Feast of Lanterns,
a tradition in Pacific Grove. A play is acted out with
dances, a dragon in the water, and lastly a great fireworks show!
Right above us!
Yet, another thing I love bout Monterey.
Walking home from the Feast of Lanterns,
we pass a room with ballroom dancers.
The kids peeped in.....
A great date!
Earthbound farm raspberries!
And apples
Chinese students for dinner
Watching the Pet Parade with friends in Pacific Grove
In our backyard...a slip and slide on cement doesn't work great.
We took Bobo's History of the Monterey Fire to the
Monterey Fire station for autographs.
We took a piece of driftwood to Young and Eugene's for help
creating a bench. Then we celebrated with pizza!
Deveraux and I went on a run together.
Playing under the table
We left the kiddos with a favorite babysitter and headed out....
We went to the National Steinbeck Center
These were some of the farm lands Steinbeck wrote about....
I felt we could not live here and not check out one of the areas
famous writers.
A yummy restaurant we found for our date in downtown Carmel.
"renovation"...I allowed hammers. We have been
watching HGTV this summer and it is all about
demolition. However, with only one shutter, an
argument was initiated.
Projects.....
That garage!
We had a great day out and about in town and ending
at the beach. I had not brought this stroller out in so
long, my babies are growing!
He dressed up as the prince. Bobo loves to dress up!
He couldn't resist hoping on his bike!
He wanted Dev to dress up as well!
"Happy Wedding"
I just wanted to remember her wedding set up.....
It was a beautiful occasion!
Hair stylist Deveraux, I even let her cut my bangs, on an impulse!
This is Bobo's first created "ramp" for his bike.
His first jump using a broom stick handle.
I feel there is more to come....
He is become so fast on his bike!
We found out this beach in Seaside has lots of glass and pottery that
you can dig for....we will be back!
Thinking of purchasing a trundle bed at some point....
Deveraux's first braid
Hair by Deveraux. Bobo said I looked like Cinderella...mmmm,
only through the eyes of my child!
He is pointing to is "break: in the middle, his rest.
That is a great looking B, Mr. bobo!
He just recently learned to put both feet on the scooter,
now he is cruising!
Usually we do wear shoes and a helmet!
Deveraux told me today that she would make a good servant.
I asked her what she meant. She said if dada were the
king and I were the queen, she would be a good servant.
Later she was helping me pick up the house. She was
doing a good job but growing weary.....I just had to remind
her about being a good servant (he he).
Dada took it out for a spin and then I hopped on the scooter!
No wonder our kids have fun!
They have loved our cul-de-sac this summer.
They have freedom to ride! They both have really improved
their skills, it has been fun to watch!
Finally purchased a guitar. The family headed to Gilroy
for some shopping!
I am excited for this new adventure. I decided
on steel strings (hard decision as my dad gave me
the nylon string guitar that I am replacing) and
I went with a little bit different shape.
I am hopeful with some practice, good sounds will
be produced! Bobo was able to get his strap
put in his guitar.
We talked all week about this bat as a reward for
obedience. We waiting for dada who
wanted to pick it out with him.
Although as I write this, the bat is out of reach
to Bobo who decided to draw a B on my
beautiful couch....Bobo needs to learn to
not leave such an obvious clue
I am so glad my kids love books! We don't have a bookstore
near us, so they were excited! Our agenda here was to
pick out a Bible for Deveraux. Since she started attending
the older student Sunday School where they read out
of a grown up Bible (instead of a Bible storybook) she
has wanted a new Bible. She was so excited. She also
got a Bible carrying case and a devotional. Since this time,
she carries her Bible around with her. She even brought it
on a play date, wanting to show her friend. Her Sunday
School teacher affirmed that she really loves the Word.
Of course, Anthropology....Andrew would like this
book display in our home....mmmmm
We were downtown Carmel one night for a
summer concert series.
Sometimes it is tough getting out of the car....
We continue to meet with two couples for our
Storyline Bible study. Usually the kiddos are both asleep
when everyone leaves. This is a picture I always want
as they grow, it represents people in our home and our kids
seeing it, if even for a bit.
loved these sweet tin cups...might try to duplicate someday....
Two of Deveraux's friends, we ended up not many play dates this summer.
It was mostly Bobo and Deveraux play dates.
I asked Bobo what he liked about his summer....
"That is was good and powerful. I liked how I
dressed up.
Out to a Swiss restaurant to celebrate Young's birthday
with fondue!
Chocolate....she is always willing to play!
We were surrounded by murals on the walls.
Back to our house for more celebration!
Our sweet Young who gives us much from her generous heart!
And always reminds us how grateful she is for us....a gift she is!
We made our summer's end placemats today.
The kids decided which pictures they wanted.
Celebrated at wing stop
Then headed to Chili's for desert to do our 2nd Annual
"Fancy Nancy" dress up and go out and be silly.
I had brought out dress up box.
This was an idea I found last summer taken out of a picture book
of a family who dresses up fancy and heads out to a restaurant.
Deveraux was in, I was in.....Bobo not so much.
He put on an army belt and then as you can see he
has a wider belt across his chest.
Drew was in
So I told Bobo that he would not get desert
if he wasn't dressed fancy. It wasn't until the
desert was placed in front of him, he grabbed
the belt he had brought and placed it around his
chest and grabbed his spoon.
I laughed so hard. Not a word, just got his belt on.
He has a good idea of what is going on...lest I forget!
Ahhhh summer, thank you!
