Mt. Rainer. Day 31

Out our window...the forest waits,,,,

Cabin #1 was ours for the night!

exploring

Bobo was so hoping we would have to use the tire chains
we picked out, Andrew was so hoping we wouldn't....and that we
could return them unused!

Let it snow!  Look at that face, he was so excited!

looking at the snow

Mount Rainer comes in either as first or second each year as the recorded
snowiest places in the world.   They were expecting a big storm that
evening but it seemed to be making it's way in while we were
at Paradise visitor center.  Andrew started to get a little nervous, we slowly
made our way down below the snow line.
Each National Park seems to have it's own personality or
something it is known for...it seems Mount Rainer is known
for it's majestic mountain and the harsh conditions of snow hanging around
for about 8 months of the year.
Visitor's center at Paradise
It was blowing!

The poles are so the snowplow can see where the road is!!!

Bobo wanted to put his snow in his travel journal.

alongside the road some waterfalls

Deveraux and I went on a little walk together.  It was a fun loop trail which
explained the history of the area.  James Longmire originally settled the
areas along with a mineral springs resort.  The National park was founded in 1899.
This is an area is a place where forest meets meadow.
Horsetail plant, survived since prehistoric times!

Taking his Park Ranger oath to earn his Mount Rainer badge.

Deveraux also

Andrew turned the car around for this sculpture garden
of metal and wood, great creations!

Bobo saw this rainbow.  For Bobo, this would be his first
remembered" sighting as he was too young to remember
Maui rainbows.  He liked it!  I had to explain why it left....

I know a Denny's...but Andrew and I have a history with
a Denny's.  We had an all night talk there at the very
beginnings of our relationship while in college in Colorado.  We went
on the premise to study, there was much more talking than
studying and we just couldn't say good night.
So we didn't.
We pulled into our college parking lot
right when Andrew's tennis team was pulling out to practice in the morning.
And look where it took us....
