Leaving Seattle day and headed to Mount Rainer.
Andrew asked Bobo if he wanted to try some deodorant.
Deveraux and I look at each other, we know, Picture Moment!
She grabbed my camera to follow the action!
On the way, we stopped at Snoqualmie falls.
The world's largest underground power plant powered by the falls. The
power plant is undetectable, located in the rock under the falls.
This was on our initial drive into Mount Rainer National Park,
on the side of the road.
We were driving and there it was, beautiful Mount
Rainer. these would be the only sights we would have
of it due to weather. We later learned through the film
that the roads were planned to see the dramatic beauty.
I felt that on this section.
Another breathtaking, awe of God and His creation moment,
all these trees! Those who know, camera's never
quite capture the beauty and majesty of creation!
We stopped at the convenience store for the bathroom and
guidance on where to stay the night...I love this sign,
"Best milk shakes in Glenoma". Everyone has their claim to fame!
We ended up in a cabin for the evening! It was right
at the entrance on the park. And the fire was a great,
"get us in the mood" addition.
We found our key and went in and started the fire!
We finished, "Ivan the One and Only", had some popcorn,
and played Uno. The kids really liked being there.
No internet, no phone service. Deveraux stayed up
late having trouble getting to sleep.
I stayed up way to late (as usual) to get Bobo's travel
journal together and Andrew was busy reading about our
next leg in Oregon. But we will be ready to hit the
road tomorrow, we hear a big snow is coming tomorrow
evening. Bobo is so excited for snow. We thought we would
see it today but they had already closed one of the roads
to the visitor center so we had to make a wide circle
to the other entrance. So we are hoping for snow for Bobo
but not enough to use our car chains!!
Deveraux woke up early the next morning with a bad
dream. She crawled into bed with me and she said,
"It is so cozy."
