Oregon Coast. Day 40

Hostel living, Bobo was boycotting the morning we left and
was sequestering himself on the top bunk.  He was going to
miss the kitty and the bunk bed.
Saying good-bye to the neighborhood kitty.

First stop was to pick up our pottery that Deveraux painted
and this is a last look at Seaside's beach.
We hit Cannon Beach next, a sweet little town a little
more refined than Seaside and boasts to have the famous
Haystack rock.  There was a funny bit written about their
claim to the second highest rock, but that was contested
and then when questioned no one admitted who it was
who made that claim....as we drive around it is kinda funny
to see, "Highest point in Oregon" and then you might see
the same claim further down the road.  But as tourists
we still get excited when we see those words.

Canon Rock area was very pretty.
We decided not to get out and explore Haystack Rock
but to press on to more adventures ahead.
We saw a bunch of surfers in a parking lot, so we
went to check it out.  We had to bribe Bobo to give us
a journal entry and he could go watch the surfers.  The
path was about a little less than a mile.
Bobo found this piece of board and called it his skim board.

Andrew told him he had to take off his
clothes if he really was going to try out
his new "board."
Scrumptious!
He waded in to one side, then waded back.
Pondered
....and decided not to try his board out any further,
as Andrew advised him how shallow it was and I
added that the water was running pretty fast.
The board has joined in the fun with all the other stuff in the van.
It was a beautiful path, just on the side of the road,
how many paths are there like that, just on the side
of the road and you never know....
Lots of reading and looking goes on in the car....
Here we are at Tillamook Cheese.
mooooo

We tried the cheese and the ice cream!

Onto to Pacific City and as promised we got out the kite,
as they had been waiting!  It turned out to be a great spot to fly.
One of the things I really wanted on this trip was a kite.
Well the kids and I found the perfect one in a clearance bin
at a kite shop.  The woman who helped us had learned how to make
kites and also professionally flies them.  She said the owner who is
an older gentlemen just had a dream to have a kite shop,
so I told her to let him know he made a family happy with a kite!

Happy Veteran's Day!
