Monday found us venturing out into the town of Park City.
Our usual day here in Park City meant sleeping in most days past 9:30,
kiddos going to bed by 10:00 or 11:00, Andrew and I past 12:30 or 1:00.
I had said we would get Dev and Bobo on a better sleep schedule in
preparation for our days ahead, but we just didn't pull it off.
Each day included pool time, lots of play time in the room for the
kids, school book time, workouts for Drew and I, and cooking all our dinners in...
Ski season begins here on Saturday, we were about a week early.
Even though it felt pretty quiet and slow, it was kinda nice feeling
like we were the only ones around at times.
I look forward to Dev and Bobo trying out skiing sometime.
Bobo wanted to head up the hill, I was all for it!
He has his snow scrapper....just in case!
He had tied his belt around his leg,
I think he got this from a science show
they really enjoy, "Popular Mechanics for Kids".
Deveraux made some comment about was Dada enjoying this....as Drew's
top choice isn't usually a hike in the snow. She made some mention of
separate dates. On the list was for Bobo and I to have our date and for
Drew to take out Dev. Well I mentioned possibly taking our dates at
that point....say no more, Drew and Deveraux were turning around
ready to head into town
Bobo and I were happy to be climbing the snow hill playing mountain rescue.
Park City is a pretty town. Houses built on the hills, old homes mixed
in with huge newer houses.
Bobo said he wanted to live in this house because he would
be right by the snow.
He loved this ski shop. He also loves surf shops.
Andrew and I were laughing later about how he
will just saunter around these types of shops. And
say things like, "I wonder if they have any kid gloves?"
He is the ultimate shopper. It was fun just following him
around Main Street, stopping wherever he wanted to stop,
mostly we were just on the hunt for more ski stuff.
We stopped for ice cream and ran into our other
two halfs who were enjoying a root beef float!
In back of where we are staying are these trees
that have been strung with shoes of all sorts.
Deveraux woke up really early in the morning,
still night time for us. She had a really hard time getting back to
sleep. She was talking through the idea of sleep and I was in
and out of consciousness. She did say, "sleep is a waste of my
time." That so sums up Deveraux's sleep habits as a baby. She
has since gotten better, but she does love to stay up late and she
usually beats us all to waking. As she was trying to get back to
sleep she was sorting through the idea of sleep and we often discuss with her
how to quiet her mind and try to get to sleep. I had the thought we may
have to write a sleep paper for home schooling.
