First stop: Sacramento.....with the Sollazo's, Days 1 & 2

On the road...head to our first stop...the road trip begins!
We left Monterey about 10 pm, so we arrived
in Sacrament about 1:00 in the morning....
Can you say tired!
Thankfully, Andrew was driving because my eyes could not stay open.
We woke up to some poison oak on Bobo and an
earing dilemma for Devearaux (her earing back had
been pushed so far in her ear, some of the skin was
growing around it).  Yikes!  But we moved through each
issue and headed with the Sollazo's to Apple Hill in Sacramento.
We get fall!

Cutie Asher
Dev and Cici have fun together!
High Hill Ranch was our first stop and there were so many varieties of
apples, some names I had never heard of...we got a handful
to try them out....we also tried out the caramel apples and donuts!

Next stop....Mill view Ranch
We wanted to pick some apples so we headed to one of
the apple picking orchards!
At first we were told we couldn't pick apples from someone
in the shop and then Maria spotted the owner and asked if we could
pick and she said it was okay.  They had recently bought the orchard and
were not wanting to advertise apple picking as they felt their orchard
was needing some work.
We were just all so excited and we had the orchard to ourselves.

Deveraux's travel journal.  She had a couple of questions
to find out about apple orchards.

They were really good.

Maria and I had a morning coffee the next day, I love
hanging and talking with her and seeing what different
seasons bring her way.

What an amazing fall day we had with our dear friends.
We are thankful every time we are with the Sollazo's.
We are so blessed our Maui friends got to also be our California
friends and we are really hoping they move back soon to Maui!  It is wonderful
to share a history with friends especially pre-kiddos.  We find such joy in
seeing the ways God is blessing them and growing them!  We will look
forward to our next time to hang out, it is a fun treat when all members
of two families get along so well.....especially when you are talking 9 people!
(sorry Uncle Brian, I didn't get a picture of you...you of course made us laugh as always)!
