This morning, I got to sleep in!
They were all in hallway so they could have some light,
yet still allow me to sleep!
I work up to this happy little scene.
So hotel life. One morning as we were coming into our hotel room. the housekeeper
asked if she should come back later, I said that would be great. We walked
in and Bobo made a comment about the beds not being made.
Andrew and I do not want out kiddos to take anything for granted or to
feel a certain entitlement. We would not be staying in Hyatt's if Andrew did not work
for them and receive an incredible discount. So I asked Bobo,
"Why do you think we are staying here" (leading into an explanation of why we
stay in Hyatt's and how blessed we are).
Bobo responded,
"Because we don't have a home?"
That is also true. So let us be grateful and then I had Bobo make the bed with me.
Stanley Park
So I don't love all the pictures I am in, but it is important
to be in them and I think now that Devearux also has a camera.
I will be found in more. I used to enjoy being in pictures more,
maybe it is once you have kids. you are so used to capturing their faces and maybe
it is seeing the gray hairs or the lack of attention you have paid your own face and hair.
I read this in a recent blog I like to read quoting another mom, Aleida:
"There is a reason why I'm posting these pictures. Pictures that I'm actually in.
Not because I think I'm all that and a trip to Hollywood. No. It's because I'm
actually tired of being worried about how I look and not asking or having very many
photos of me with my children. Precious opportunities to capture on paper, lost
because of my silliness. Well no more I say! One day I won't be here and there will
be hardly any pictures of them and their mama. So ladies, hand over the camera and get
in those photos! Please. You will be happier you did."
This was in October 2009, one month later, Aleida Franklin lost her life by a driver who
ran a red light. (posted on her blog: The Scrapping Rican)
It is a way of saying, I was there!
Deveraux and I had fun while I ran and she raced on the scooter,
she went a good distance. Andrew then went on a run around
the whole park. I knew I wanted to do the same, so the next
day, I ran from our hotel and ran the park. It was an adventure
and a highlight to accomplish.
Back on those bars, she loved them.
Mom's at a park, a universal happening and looks the same anywhere.
Date night....we all ended up at the same place but
never ran into each other. We all took the Sky Train to
the big mall. I felt a sense of accomplished as we took the big city
train and made it to a mall.
Deveraux and I had fun picking out accessories for her Halloween 80's costume.
Andrew and I have had some good laughs about our kids and
the things they say. The last couple of days Andrew was able
to have access to the club level. Translation: free food and drinks,
which equals = make it count.
LSU game day
Surfing and dancing
book work in the hallway
Our last evening out on the town,
we headed to the harbor and to find
the site of the Olympic torch.
Cool reflection of one building on another.
Sea planes were very fun to watch
Looking to Stanley park
The light was wonderful as the sun was setting
Dueling photographers....me and my girl!
I like "photo-mobbing" her pics
The Oriole, the first Canadian Navy ship
New camera
The Olympic torch from 2010! They did not have the torch
going for us, but it was still a beautiful sight!
I am standing up there, arms raised, in the Olympic spirit!
That is me and mine all our hands raised!
Back to Club level to catch the desert....
Most evenings Andrew and I were busy beavers,
once the kids were asleep....,working on my blog, budget, catching up
on tasks, correspondence, and fun blog reading. It seems we wouldn't
usually get out and about as a family until early afternoon most days and then
stay out into the evening, back to the room, kids down and we get busy!
Good night Vancouver, thanks for a pleasant stay!
I love their outfits on this day-Bobo's tie was just too cute!
