Go far Bobo

Only those who risk going too far can find out how far one can go."
-Thomas Stearns (T.S. Elliot)

I had seen this quote awhile back and instantly thought of Bobo.

Sometimes Bobo's curiosity can distract from going just a couple of steps.  I have had to say over and over, "Bobo shoes and socks, Bobo shoes and socks, Bobo...."  But then I might find him in his bedroom engrossed in a book (the other night the Bible).  Who am I to speak to that distraction!  Or his curious mind working as I find him exploring.  I guess there are just more important things than shoes and socks.

Or I feel the weight when others see how listening is not his strongest suite.  Yes, we need to continue working on his obedience and listening.  I want him also to be responsive to other adults and engage when needed.  Oh but his heart is wonderful.  His mind, his adventurous spirit, and his curiosity wonderful.  I also love when his gets in his own world of play and he is so deeply involved.

That is why one thing I love giving to Bobo is freedom to explore and play.  I loved the layout of our Carmel home, he had freedom to roam.  On vacation, we have several days we have an agenda or a destination and Bobo just wants to stop so many times for instance and play with a piece of bark that becomes his boat and we are continually calling his name.  So we will give to Bobo on this trip some hours to just be at the water.

I think he will go far and I hope I will know when to get out of the way.
(....just don't be a cliff diver...go far with you heart!  :))
