Top Ten...number 1 (S'more Worship)

Sunday Night
We invited some friends to S'more Worship
(kinda cheesey, but I like it)
We all want more worship and we all like s'mores = S'more Worship!
This is a tradition I hope to continue is Maui and I thought I would
like the first one to be in Carmel.
Bonny, Sean, Cora, and new baby Jackson.
When I met Bonny she had organized and was
facilitating Monterey Mommies Group.  It was great
to swap stories of running a mom's group and find
connection.  I also found such a sweet group of
friends from the Bible study that Bonny started that ended
up meeting in my home.  I feel Bonny and I are headed
on similar paths as she will soon be heading back home
to Minnesota.  I know God strategically placed her in my
life.  She is a gentle reminder that God was looking out
for me. I, who thought for certain that our first conversation
would be our last and she would not pursue, was so wrong.
She was a blessed gift from above and will continue!
We of course had Carmel Beach on our Top Ten list!

Blessed!

Judith was Deveraux's first Sunday School teacher.
I was so happy Deveraux had her as her first teacher here.
She was a good friend to us and I so enjoyed her interest
in our kiddos and her warm spirit!

Notice in many of these pictures, who is close to the fire....

Dale and Carolyn, our sweet hostesses of our small group
from church.  Such a great family with three kids.  We felt
warmly welcomed into their home.  We felt they were
"for us!"  We think we will see them on some warm Maui sand.

Ben and Joy....definitely enjoyed sweet fellowship with them.
They will be coming to see us and we will continue to know of
one another's stories!
Miki, Greg, and Gabby....such a kind family.  Miki was
a part of the Bible study and she was always so warm,
easy going, and consistent.  I enjoyed her presence.
Erika, my friend who told me she would tell her son over
and over the story of my dad who was lost was found.
I felt that she indeed bore the sorrow and burden as well
as sharing the joy...she really joined me.  She was an
encourager to us all in Bible study and I am so thankful
our paths crossed!
Olivia, from Bible study.  Olivia would come out with
these insights for us during study that were really great.
She was such a great presence to be with!
Aniaha, Cherrelle, and Christ....a fun family.   Cherrelle
told me that night with the summer miracles I had
experienced with my mom and now my dad, I might just
be able to have a black baby.  It was really funny. ( I had told
her how since high school I had wanted a black baby).
The first Bible study I met them, Aniaha just came and sat
in my lap...it was love at first sight!  I am thankful for this family!
I had brought a rock for each family to take and
when they went home to write a time when their faith was built,
when they saw God working.  I read the story in the Bible when God
parts the sea at the Jordan and he tells the Israelites
to pick a rock up from the bottom of the sea to remind
them what God did at that place.  They were bring the rocks
home and tell their children.

I love that story.  I love that God is/was into markers and symbols.
I love that God knew we would forget and would need something tangible.
I love that it is up to us to tell our children the stories of God
to build our faith.  This night was a celebration of friendship
but it also became a night to celebrate God's faithfulness
in keeping my dad alive.

I love that my friend Erika said she was going to tell her son my dad's
story over and over.
We must remember God's acts, they build our faith!
Oh Sally, we shared each other's stories in the evenings
when the kiddos were asleep and we would go out and have
the luxury of uninterrupted time.  Sally offered a friendship
that felt easy, grace filled, and I felt she really wanted to be
my friend, a gift indeed!
Worship time....I loved hearing Bobo's voice singing out with Eugene.
Joy and Ben read some good Psalms....

Young getting in her snuggles with Bobo!
Amen
