Making our Easter garden.
Good Friday.
Decided to stay home for a service instead of church.
I am glad we did for this year, it was a meaningful time.
Our friends came over and surprised the kids with
Easter egg dying and a Easter egg hunt on Saturday.
Thank you sweet Paula.
Came in from the hunt to this beautiful sight.
More of Good Friday- we went through the stations of the cross.
My reading that Joy gave me that I read
every Easter weekend.
Time to decorate for Easter and get out the
eggs to fill for the big hunt.
Getting out décor out of the bin.
We always dye our eggs on Saturday evening.
This was not a great time as I remember. The pictures can
be sweet...but....Andrew was painting our fence to ward off
the rust from rain. We were late in getting to dinner which
meant late to dying eggs. Some of the dye accidently
spilled. Cambria slipped when I thought she was being
watched. I knew we still had a big night in front of us
getting ready to host Easter....I got upset and just felt maxed!
Happy Easter. It doesn't always look how we want it to.
All ready for morning.
Found this idea, "In Christ, we are a new creation" verse
to put on their new Easter clothes.
Easter weekend is such a wonderfully filled
time. I love the traditions, the meaning, and
the celebration. But it is a lot. I want to work
on enjoying the moment and not just "setting
the stage" so I can create the "perfect" moments.
Because then I am just working, preparing.
planning and something gets missed and I miss
out and I think my kids miss a part of me.
So I will think through that next Easter.
It either means taking something out, being
better prepared, maybe shifting the schedule
around a bit. I'm not sure right now but hope
to intentionally think through that for next year.
