The Gallagher's and Glossinger's decided to join the Bergstrom
clan who were headed up to Estes Park.
Road Trip!
Complete with snacks!
Downtown Denver...used to clap when I would pass it...
really got into going down here starting in college. Heather
and I had dream we would live down here one day.
Bobo thought Broncos stadium was cool...pic taken from
moving car...
Beautiful Mountain town...so fun!
So Heather and Brent suggested we meet here
for dinner. It was the oddest place. Hard to
describe, we were about the only ones here
and it was an old (felt deserted) hotel with restaurant.
We passed the time waiting taking pictures....
We found a friend on the wall behind us.
We ended up at this pizza joint.
Rockin New years Eve at the YMCA camp of the Rockies
dance party for families!!
They also have a roller rink so we took the party in there!
Happy New Year babes!
Bobo doing under the legs tricks with Uncle B.
Dada out on skates!
Had to give the baby up so I could put on my roller
skates! Well the fun turned to a huge bummer.
Uncle Roy while skating fell and broke his wrist!
Andrew had to take him to the hospital. Roy suffered
a lot of pain and stayed in his cabin for the trip.
He ended up getting surgery at the hospital the
day after we left. It was very scary because he
hurt his left hand and he is a doctor who performs
surgery's with his left hand. Many prayers later and
through rehabilitation, he is back fully functioning--
but is was a hard season.
There were these huge hunks of snow.
We took a class on wilderness survival and the guide was blind!
Some great metaphor in there....
THE craft cabin...a favorite. Mosaics, jewelry, tie dye....
Dev continued to be sick off and on during the
trip, it was strange. She would feel good but
then in the middle of the night get sick again.
I felt for her, she was so excited for Colorado.
But she made the most of it!
Love LIGHTS on TREES on SNOW!
They had a great lodge with snacks..my kind of place!
Dev and I laid out s'mores making for
everyone after swimming. The coolest thing
about the YMCA is almost all the activities are
free...if we would have been at a hotel, those s'mores
would have cost a small fortune. I so
appreciated that everything did not have an
additional cost.
The kids loved the camp. I am thinking we will
be back.
He is growing Lou!
Not a great pic but representative of something funny Uncle Drew
must have done or Uncle B...I love when they are silly.
Happy New Year!
Bobo and I tried out these spikes that you put
right over your boots for the hike we did-they
were really cool.
I love that he went on the hike with us.
Me and Lou had a good walk/talk.
Ahhhhhh is all I can say. My Colorado mountains!
They had a mailbox with a Bible and paper for letters to God.
I met this boy in Colorado..forever forever grateful.
Ausie...Bergstrom's sweet dog
Definitely a highlight of my trip.
Great hike
This was my "look" for the days in the mountains.
There is a baby under that blanket.
So the Gallaghers were the last ones hanging out
in the craft cabin. We ended up staying awhile on our last day.
Drew decided he wanted to do an LSU mosaic. GO Tigers!
Thank you Estes for introducing my family to mountain Camps!
Had to include this one...only mama! (hee hee)
Found the cutest shop in downtown Estes. And the
shop keeper overheard us talking and told us the
surgeon there was so good and Roy was in great hands.
We definitely felt God was watching over us.
A little browsing before the drive back to
the city.
